Learning to Sew
My birthday present from Kevin and Jack was an awesome sewing machine. I'm really excited about learning to sew and my mom gave me some lessons while visiting. We started by making a dress from a pattern she brought that was printed in 1969. Amy and I wore dresses made from this pattern when we were little and now Baby Girl will wear her very own.

Cars Undies
Yesterday while looking around a fancy children's clothing store at Baytowne Wharf, Jack put his microscopic Cars-vision to use. He spotted, from his stroller, the bottom corner of a package of Cars underwear in a bin on the floor. Always a sucker for his cuteness, Mama Lisa bought the undies for Jack so we're prepared when we start potty training (not any time soon).
Here's Jack checking out his new undies.
Even though he won't need them for a while, Jack still likes to play with his Cars underwear. He does, in fact, have a pair on over his clothes and a pair on his head.

Sushi Rocks
We went to the awesome Baytowne Wharf to shop a bit and have lunch. Aside from the fact that it was eleventy billion degrees outside we had a great time. We had a delicious meal at Osaka Sushi Rocks and Jack got bored eating his bowl of rice and reached for our pretty plates of sushi. He tried and really enjoyed a few California Rolls!
After lunch, Mama Lisa spoiled Jack with a giant lollipop.

Aunt Mamie
Jack's Aunt Amy arrived with a few goodies for Jack, including a pair of Cars socks. Jack immediately put them on and walked around the house in circles while staring at his feet. It's a wonder he didn't walk into the wall.

Last Gymnastics Class
Jack's last gymnastics class was Tuesday and he had a big audience to watch his final performance. Aunt Amy arrived Monday to join Jack's group of fans.

The final activity of Tuesday's class was playing with ribbons. Jack might have a future in rhythmic gymnastics because he really seemed to enjoy himself. Seriously, it was hysterical. Each child performed a solo routine, which entailed running back and forth on the floor, and Jack capped his performance by raising his hands and saying "ta da!"
