Bump Watch - 36 Weeks

Here's the bump. Although, that word is kind of sweet and makes the belly sound small. It is not. I am clearly large and in charge.

The Big Reveal...

It's Baby Girl's nursery! We absolutely love it. It turned out better than we could have imagined thanks to lots of hard work and skilled plainting by Papa Lou and Kevin. And to toot my own horn for a minute, I made the flowered window valance, pillow cases and a small sham in the crib.

Here it is...

View from the window. View from the door.
Dresser/changing table (with her coming home outfit on the changing pad).
The details...
Winnnie the Pooh quote we applied to a mirror from a German flea market."What are Girls Made Of?" prints.
Let's hope she has hair... our homemade bow holders.

Playdate at Barnes & Noble

Yesterday we went to Barnes & Noble with Claire and her mom so the kiddos could play at the awesome train table and enjoy all the books. We've only just recently discovered the train table but it is a BIG hit with Jack. He could seriously play for hours. (Don't tell him, but he's getting his very own train table and train set for Christmas!) There were too many cute pictures for me to narrow down so enjoy the slideshow from yesterday's fun.

Just Like His Mama

Jack has developed a deep affection for M&Ms. He seriously asks for "chachit" (chocolate) as soon as he wakes up until he goes to bed. It obviously doesn't help that his pregnant mother cannot get enough chocolate these days. Clearly we don't let him have it as often as he asks (or it's all he'd eat), but it's a fun treat after a good meal. Here he is after a little chachit yesterday afternoon.

The one good thing about Jack's obsession with M&Ms? He's learning his colors. Forget books, for Jack it's all about bribing with chocolate!

Vote for Jack

Apparently some big other voting is in the news, but this is the most important vote you can cast in the next week. Vote for Jack in a little cuties contest! I'm a totally delinquent mom and didn't realize voting started days ago. Check out this link to LoveLucasCreations and post a comment on the blog indicating your vote for #15 Jack. Voting ends tomorrow (Wednesday) at noon eastern. Thanks!

Adventures on the Potty

Yesterday in the middle of a costume, er, clothing change, Jack took of his diaper, walked to his potty and did his business. All by himself. No prompting. In fact, Kevin was on his way to return the diaper to Jack's little bottom when he saw him on the potty. We celebrated Jack's big accomplishment by doing the "Jack went pee pee on the potty" song and dance.

After all the excitement, we sort of reenacted the big event. I think Jack was just so proud of himself that he was eager to sit on the potty again so we snapped a few pictures and a video.

Jack was a little more modest in the photos than in the video so don't mind his manlihood. (By the way, if this video looks awesome, it's because it is. It's the first video on the blog taken with our new camera. )

Pardon our nastiness, but I'm going to go ahead and include a picture of the goods in the potty.

Brrrr... It's Getting Chilly

We are so thankful it's cooling off and fall weather has finally arrived, but you'd think it was freezing the way I bundled Jack to play outside this morning. But, really it was, like, in the 60's so the vest and hat were totally appropriate. Apparently I've acclamated to the hot Florida weather after only one summer here because it felt downright cold. But, so has Jack because he told me his hands were cold. I need to find some mittens....
Not so sure about the hat.And it's off.
Very busy riding his bike.

My Boys

Jack gets very excited when he hears Kevin walk in the door each night after work. The other night was no exception. Here are a couple photos of my favorite boys celebrating dada getting home.

Making Dinner for Friends

One of Jack's new favorite things to do is "cook." His cooking involves playing with pots and pans and spoons, making a lot of noise and taste testing his creations. Yesterday while I was cooking dinner for the family, Jack made dinner for his friends Elmo and baby. Jack's food is apparently delicious because when he puts the spoon to Elmo's mouth he says "Mmmmmm."
Showing his friends how to say "cheese."

The One and Only Mullet Festival!

The weekend we've been looking forward to since we found out we were moving to Niceville finally arrived. It was time for us to experience the one and only Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival. Sadly, the Festival celebrates the fish and not the hairstyle, but it was fun nonetheless.

Jack and Kate on the "midway", if you will.
Kate dressed the part by wearing the most classy of maternity t-shirts (a TDY gift from Kevin). A definite highlight of the day was Kevin and Jack's ride on a VERY big blow up slide. Please enjoy the action photos and notice how the look on Jack's face changes. He goes from very excited to not so sure to scared out of his mind. We did some fine dining, but did not partake in any of the Festival specialties.
The performer on Sunday evening was country singer Sara Evans. Jack danced to a few songs before we went home.

If any of you are planning to visit, you should clearly plan your visit around next year's Mullet Festival. It is not to be missed.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the local Pumpkin Patch to enjoy the nice (finally cooler) weather and pick up a small pumpkin for our porch. Oh, and we also wanted an excuse to take some pictures with our new camera.
Jack wanted to get in the container of tiny pumpkins.
And he did...
They had a face cut out pose thing. Apparently our favorite thing ever.
Jack also enjoyed the bouncy castle.
They had Jack sized pumpkins! Our sweet boy.
